What forms of payment does Hertz take?

If the booking is made over the telephone then Hertz only accepts credit card payments. The credit card must be under the same name as the person who will collect the vehicle. If payment is made online then a debit or prepaid card will be accepted. If you have a corporate account then the car can be prepaid and book under the name of the employee.

Do you need to leave a deposit when renting a vehicle?

When you collect a Hertz vehicle you will be required to leave a guarantee deposit. This amount will be blocked on the renters credit card and then unblocked when the vehicle is returned.

Does Hertz offer one way rentals?

Hertz offers rentals between locations in the same country. It also has one way rentals between major cities between countries. In some cases a one-way rental will also be charged a one-way drop fee. This fee will be applied when you make your booking.

Can you add additional drivers?

Yes you can add additional drivers when you borrow a Hertz vehicle. However this cannot be done through the online booking form. You must add the additional drivers when you pick up the vehicle. You will be charged an additional driver fee for this service.

Can you return a vehicle if the location is closed?

In some cases you may be able to return the rental vehicle even if the rental location is closed. In some rental locations there is a key box where you can drop the keys along with a copy of the rental agreement. This service is not offered in all rental locations however so you should call to check.
